Stena Line Travel & Retail Group consolidates all  Travel & Retail activities in Europe for Stena Line, with a turnover of 250 MEUR generated from more than 30 source markets. We are one of the leading Travel companies in Northern Europe and a major player within the North European Travel Retail business. We serve more than 550 000 B2C customers yearly travelling to more than 200 destinations and a significant number of the largest Travel Retail vendors in Europe. This position will be placed within our travel business unit Sembo with around 60 employees and a turnover of 100 MEUR. Sembo is an online platform company with bold global growth ambitions within   the near future.

In this position you will also be working very close to our Head of Technology and on a strategic level with the managing Director for Stena Line Travel & retail Group as well as with our corporate HR & Communication units at Stena Line.

Through this position you will own and heavily influence the recruitment process, performance management programs, educational initiatives, on & off boarding, incentive & objectives planning and every other aspect of our HR process. You will also be responsible for our employer branding and all internal & external communication designed to shape and support the transformation of our company culture with the aim to become a global player within the travel industry.  


The ideal candidate will build and oversee all people and communication related functions to create a high performing organization and a great place to work. You will need to have the ability and willingness to contribute both on a hands on level as well as on a strategic leadership level by partnering and collaborating cross functionally across the company. You will be building all our HR & communication related activities from the ground up to support our future global growth.  

As Head of People & Communication, you will need to be independent, self-driven and enjoy working in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment. Your level of drive lies far above average, and your problem solving skills enables you to challenge the status quo and come up with ambitious solutions.

  • You will serve as a key member of our leadership and serve as a trusted leader and adviser to our leaders & employees.
  • Partner with the leadership team to identify and deploy impactful people & communication strategies enabling us to reach our vison.
  • Provide expertise specific to employment law and compliance requirements and ensure applicable labor and employment laws and regulations. 
  • Provide expertise within compensation, rewards, benefits, diversity, organizational development, performance management, HR systems and immigration. 
  • Develop a communications strategy for external and internal communication in line with the overall strategy and vision.
  • Build up an efficient way of working with communication supporting using digital platforms enabling teams & management from different geographical locations to maximize collaboration and engagement.

Graduate degree (Master, MBA or equivalent) in the fields of advanced human resource, business administration or similar through extensive experience. Experience from fast growing companies preferably with a technology focus working in agile & flexible ways. Advanced knowledge of the Office product Suit. The preferred candidate can live either in South Sweden on commuting distance from our head office in Helsingborg live or in Palma De Mallorca. This job requires frequent travelling and from time to time work during weekends.
